ROBLOX FASHION: 2008-2016 fashion timeline (Girls Version) Updated: 03/10/2016

It's been 8 years now since clothing first made it's way to ROBLOX and wow we have seen many styles going around. From the early days of pink  and 80s revival clothing to the Modern crop tops and high waisted jeans of today. So let's begin.

2008-2011

Jalki dresses,Skater scene,Goth,Pink,Bright colours,Ripped pants,Metallic,Sparkly,Crop tops,High boots,Off-shoulder tops

Jalki

From 2010 one of ROBLOX's most known and Legendary designer was born, Jalki. Some of her clothing was very questionable some are still worn today. A typical Jalki dress is a dress with no straps bright colours and sparkly with big bows or belts and sandals or knee high boots girls would wear shaggys (Yes girls use to wear them) with bows or Pink hair tied in a bun or Frizzy blonde hair (Picture of the right) Whilst 2.0s mainly wore the VERY stylish (At the time) Midnight shades with blonde girl hair and sometimes a fedora to go with it. These styles stayed popular until 2011 however Jalki dresses were still commonly worn until mid 2013. She also created jeans and the very popular tube tops in 2011. Bikini wear was also EXTREMELY popular in 2011.

The Goth/Skater scene

I have put these to genres together as they overlap a lot in this era. This was the MOST POPULAR genres of that era and was what most people would wear. Metallic looking jeans were very popular for both girls and boys. Goths would mainly wear darker coloured metallic clothing whilst skater scene would wear dark or bright colours. Such as blue,pink,red,green. High waisted clothing wasn't popular back then all clothes were low waisted. Popular brands included DC and converse worn on both girls and boys. With the metallic/goth/ripped/trash/Skater styles girls would wear  the popular skater hats. With girl hair in brown,blonde or black (At this time blonde was most favoured) Some wore fedoras. Pink hair tied in a bun and shaggys (Yes girls wore them back then) For glasses Midnight shades were a must have. Some girls use to wear angel wings aswell. Some wore bunny ears with very loud colourful clothing. Girls would also dress in boy clothing and would have swords or skateboards for gear. Crops tops would be worn with belly button showing unlike now wear high waisted stuff covers it.

 Pink

Most people know that back then the main colours revolved around Pinks,Purples,Darks people liked to dress loud everyone infact! Many people also  wanted to have shade or shiny or sparkly and metallic clothing so the colour would really stand out. 

(NOTE) The hair is not from this era. I chose this picture as the clothes are from this era and were popular this message only applies to this picture above.

All pictures above would be your COMMON people. They are not the fashion designers who you would assume would wear all that stuff, 

Summary

If you weren't on ROBLOX in this era you missed out. You can't go around dressed like that now and get the same response as you would back then. Bright clothes,Crop top,Low waists,Tube tops,Leather,Matallic,Sparkle, and weird dress wear. This era is so popular that a few people still go around in bits and pieces of the old clothes. You still see Jalki dresses sometimes on noobs. It was much rarer to find a designer back then. And those people who were designers use to get huge amounts of sales you won't get today as more designers are around and more people can create there only clothes and fashion groups now make clothing as well. A lot of clothes back then was drawn as well! Off-Shoulder tops were extremely common both types as well (The type with both shoulders off and the type with 1)

2012-2014

Cardigans,Sweaters,High waist shorts,Uggs,Floral print,Tank tops,Blouse,Combat boots, High-Lows,Loose dresses,Crop tops

If you wasn't a fan of the Bright,Loud,Skater styles of 2008-2011 then 2012 was a great year for a you as a new wave of trends were coming in. Some of these trends still exist today however 2012-2014 didn't have the hip hop or Grunge scene which is why ive split the 2012-2016 era in to 2. Anyway 2012 saw more calmer styles coming in pastel colours and Floral,Polka,Animal print and stripes were very popular. A lot of vintage style had come in as well. Collars were popular on tops,cardigans,blouses. Brown belts went round mini skirts as well. Girls would wear Girl hair in colours Brown and Blonde and angel wings with nerd glasses cheeky face and sometimes Hair extensions. Uggs were very popular.

High waist

With loads of new designers around High waist clothing became a staple on fashion forever on ROBLOX. Designers such as blubaby,Jalki,iOozi,PaperMousee,PlasticTurtle brought this all in. Low waist remained until 2013 however in 2012 high waist had become more popular but didn't completely extinct the low waist style until 2013.

Crop Top

Crop tops have always been in style on ROBLOX however in wasn't until this era where they had become at their peak. When the EXTREMELY popular tank tops came out they started making crop versions because of high waist clothing designers started only making cropped clothing which is why low waist clothing died because designers were bringing out clothing which only fitted with the high waist style.

Dress wear

Dresses were becomming less common after 2011, Less people wanted to wear them. Dresses had evolved and were not tight no more or sparkly they had become looser and had straps. The most popular type of dress was the Babydoll dress. Dresses were mainly getting prints and patterns on them as well and were no longer bold colours. 

High-Low skirts/dresses

In 2013-2014 High low skirts and dresses had become very popular High-Lows are still made today but are not very popular due to newer trends. Back then they were thought of as something classy and stylish to wear. Many designers and classy people would wear the but even ordinary people would buy them and wear them. They were at their peak in 2014. However in 2013 Jalki had introduced them and other designers carried on making them to the present day.

Beach wear

Bikinis and bathing suits were very in from 2013-2014 many got lots of sales especially ones with aztec/tribal or floral patterns on them. Aztec was a very good summer print from 2012-2014 and a lot of people use to wear it near enough all of the time! 

Summary

This era was a very easy and calm era for clothing you could just wear uggs and a cheap tank top and that would be style! The things I would say are most memorable about this era would be the vast amount of Florals prints which were literally on anything from bikinis to high low skirts to dresses and just simple things like tanks and tops. Another would be the beginning of High waist clothing which has revolutionised clothing on ROBLOX and made things a lot more realistic and cooler. Off shoulder tops remained popular in 2012 so did tube tops and other things but by 2013 that had all changed. Many girls continued to dress in boys clothes from things like adidas shoes to things like hoodies and plaid tops.

2014 

Tumblr,Early hippie clothing,Grunge,Steampunk,School clothing trend,High waisted jeans,Leggings,J0VANI dresses

2014 was a mixture of the 2012-2014 era and 2014-present era so I decide to do a separate paragraph JUST for this 1 year. 2014 was a nice calm and simple year and a great year for clothing. blubaby,iOozi,J0VANI,PlasticTurtle,iMush,Yozoh,faithbae,sassing,wishberry,mavelilly,iMegTwo, and SouledIn and SouledOut were the main designers of this year. Their were many others however. 2014 saw probably some of the best high sales since probably 2011. Fashion groups grew in popularity. The clothing was a mix of current 2015-16 trends and 2012-13 trends so it really was a great year.

Tumblr

The Tumblr scene was at it's peak in 2014 with designers like cSapphire and iOozi really bringing it in big. 

A lot of TV,Music,Vines had a big influence on ROBLOX clothing in 2014 for example the #Selfie trend. The Fault in our stars movie. And the Anaconda song by nicki minaj song. 

This outfit was the most sold girls outfit of the year 2014 made by iOozi. A lot of clothing in 2014 had this simple design. A tank top,Necklace,High waist jeans,with combat boot or converses.

All the clothes above are the common clothing of 2014. What a simpler time it was. 

Skater revival

Aswell at the time a revival of Skater clothing was happening however it didn't really come back the clothes were a more newer updated version of Skater clothing. However Converses did make a comeback in 2014. So some old trends came back in with the newer skater look.

1UK brought back the more bolder skater look however it didn't really take off. As the hippie scene was more in as well as the Tumblr scene. 

The School Girl Look

MissMudMan and many other designers brought in  COOL new trend which was the school girl look it got 1000s of buyers and many more designs for the trend were made after. 

                   

           

These got over 10k buyers. This look made a huge influence on 2014 sadly the trend in not around at the moment but it inspired a lot more school wear to emerge that year.

Summary

If you were not around in 2014 you missed out yet again on a big year for Fashion things changed in this certain year. We went from vintage to modern. Tumblr to Urban and many other things changed. Street Wear had become a huge success and it is the reason for most of the clothing we current wear in 2016. A lot of 2014 is still availible and for sale in the catalog and you can often find some within the top 10 pages (Especially on pants if you are interested in buying some of it) This was the year when MissMudMan and iOozi were at their peak. It was the year that J0VANI came on the scene as a brilliant designer she changed things.

2014-Present

High waist jeans,Halter dresses,Mini Skirts,Mesh,Lace,Crop tops,Goth,Pastel,Halter ,2 piece,Grunge,Leggings,Sweater,Maxi's,Dresses,Cut outs,Oversized clothing,Overalls

2014-present has seen loads of new cool stuff come out. 

Accessories

The biggest accessory at the moment is hair extensions everyone wears them now you can get many different types of them as well. Other popular things include body chains and necklaces many 2.0s now wear bits of other packages as this has become very popular now. For shoe wear High heels, Gladiator Sandals, Timberlands are EXTREMELY popular at the moment they are the main 3 things people wear for shoes. For hair there are 3 main things yet again. Girl hair in Pink,Black,Brown or Blonde. Pig tails (Mainly in black) or a Bun (Mainly in Black or Blonde) People love wearing flower crowns as well such as the Lei crown. Many people like to wear flannels and/or tie the round dresses/oversized clothes/shorts

Near enough all people still prefer not to wear loud clothing instead it's all about brands now. Adidas and Nike and now the most popular brands on ROBLOX now this is due to the new trends which see a lot of street wear being worn now this has been very popular since late 2014 and have continued to thrive into 2015 and 2016.

Halters

Halters have taken over the tank top days it seems. As since late 2014 more and more people have been wearing Halters. In late 2015 infact they got a little bit of a makeover as a new trend came out which saw turtlenecks come into style on ROBLOX! We now have turtleneck halters. Also in early 2016 Halter dresses came in style and have been a hit! So halters seems to have completely taken over.

High waist

High waisted clothing has continued to dominate in late 2013 early High waisted jeans had come out and by Mid-2014 they were all over the front page of the catalog. Since then many types of jeans have come out. The 3 most common are Mom jeans/Rolled up jeans/Skinny jeans. Most people prefer light blue jeans or Acid jeans however in 2015 people started liking black and dark blue jeans. Cut out jeans were preferred in 2014 however in 2015 ripped clothing made a comeback as jeans started to come as ripped denim and destroyed denim. High waisted leggings have also been a success and many people wear those now. Both jeans and leggings and EXTREMELY common now.

Dress wear

Dress wear is still not as common as it was in the 2008-2011 era. However dresses have changed again. Lace and Mesh is very popular on dresses from 2013 onwards however the popularity grew in 2014 most dresses now have it. Dresses remain quite loose however the Goth scene sees a return of quite a few old styles which I will go through later. Also 2 pieces are in style sine 2014 and are still thriving. Grunge/skater type dresses are very trendy as well. Thin stripe patterns are a very must have currently.

Overalls

Overalls are extremely popular and were at their peak in 2014 they are still being worn today however and many people wear the unattached overall jeans which came into style in Late 2015.

Return of the Goth scene

Since 2015 many designers have been trying to bring back the goth scene. It has quite made it to the common people however and it only seems to be a catwalk thing right now. The new goth scene sees old and new trends mixed together. Inspirations from shaddic and jalki have been taken through with it as well. Some of the new goth designers include KatSteele,JinxyJill,DopeSir,Grotesquette and Harley_Quinn 

Gothic leggings

Catwalk Clothing

Catwalk clothing is stuff that everyday people won't be wearing it's just the fashion designers trying to bring a certain style in. Some of these styles include Gothic,Punk,70s,90s,Vintage and a return of Loud clothing.

This dress was used on a lot of catwalk runway addicts!

Grunge

This genre has been a huge success of late. Everywhere on ROBLOX girls be wearing flannels plaid tops with destroyed denim jeans or ripped jeans and plaid jackets. The style is mixed a lot with other genres at the moment and lots of ROBLOX clothes link in with this genre. Oversized cardigans,sweaters,shirts and jerseys have also come from this genre. Also 1 type of off shoulder top has returned the type with both shoulders off.
